Things you should know:

Silver
Sterling Silver is a beautiful, lightweight precious metal that many women adore. Sterling silver must be comprised of not less than 92.5% pure silver; the remaining 7.5% is another base metal, usually nickel or copper. Because sterling silver is very soft, the additional base metal makes it more durable and less susceptible to scratches.

Hill Tribes silver comes from the Golden Triangle, where Thailand, Laos and Burma all come together. The Tribal villages are scattered over a large areas and some can only be accessed on foot or by very primitive dirt roads. Thai silver is made using .999 pure silver. Each piece is made using silver ingots that are flattened using hammers and pounding. The sheets of silver are then cut inch by inch using jewelers saws and then formed into the desired shape. The fine lines and design work on each are made by hand using sharp instruments. To get the dark colors in the beads, the beads are pressed into tar molds. No two pieces are ever the same.

Swarovski Crystal
Many people believe that the raw material used in the manufacturing of Swarovski crystals occurs naturally. This is not true. Swarovski crystal is made at the factory in Austria using the formula that was perfected by Daniel Swarovski and his three sons. Swarovski crystal is fired using a combination of natural minerals, and quartz sand, and then cooled slowly to avoid stress and inclusions. Swarovski Crystals are known as the “diamond” of the crystal market
